5th Worcester Sea Scout Group is a very active, friendly Group.  Over 180 young people, aged from 6 to 18, participate in a broad range of scouting activities.  We are one of the oldest Groups in the county, celebrating our 75 years in 2022.

The Group currently has five sections; a Squirrel Drey two Beaver Lodges, two Cub Packs and three Scout Troops. We also have a Sea Explorer unit. We provide scouting for youngsters throughout Worcester, with the main intake from Claines, Northwick and Barbourne.

Joining 5th Worcester

Young people wishing to join Beavers (age 6-8), Cubs (8 – 10½) or Scouts (10½ – 14) are very welcome.  Check out the relevant pages of our site.

All sections are typically full and we run a waiting list system. We are always looking for additional adult volunteers, and we give priority to young people who have a family member willing to volunteer.  For more information on how we allocate places to young people on our waiting list, please see our Joining List Policy.

To join, get in touch with a Section Leader or the Group Scout Leader (see our Contact page), who will be happy to answer any questions.

We currently have an Explorer Unit (Explorers are young people aged 14 – 18). and will be happy to point you in the direction of one of the Units leaders. We strongly support, and benefit from, a team of Young Leaders in this age range who help to lead the younger sections at our Group. Young Leaders are not required to attend an Explorer Unit (but many choose to do both!).  Any of our leadership team would be delighted to hear from prospective Young Leaders!
